EPZ – Arthroplasty Center of maximum care

We are pleased to inform you that the OCM together with the Sana Hospital Munich Sendling is certified since 25/10/2012 as

Arthroplasty Center (EPC) of maximum care

This makes us one of three arthroplasty centers of maximum care in Bavaria.

As part of this certification, strictly defined structure and process criteria are set which have to be performed by a joint replacement center in order to ensure the high quality standards in Arthroplasty.

This value is essentially placed on:

·         Range of services in diagnostics and therapy / structural characteristics of the patient care
Only facilities that offer fully comprehensive diagnostics and treatment up to surgery, as well as inpatient treatment including intensive care and counseling for physical therapy may identify themselves as joint replacement center.

·         Quality and quantity of interventions
Only surgeons who perform a correspondingly high number of endoprosthetic surgery can treat patients confidently and expertly. Each surgeon of a joint replacement center must perform at least 200 endoprosthetics per year including replacement surgery for hip or knee.

·         Patient Satisfaction
Only patients those patients are satisfied, who experience from the diagnosis to the operation until the time of rehabilitation a significant increase in quality of life. We measure patient satisfaction constantly. Any deviations of the results are for us quality indicators, which involve a prompt review of the processes and result in a correction.

·         Participation in activities of education, training and continuing qualification / Scientific Activities
Only those physicians who receive training on a regular basis, always remain “up-to-date” and can pass on this knowledge to their patients. The management and conduct of scientific studies by our doctors regarding surgery and treatment within the Arthroplasty Center is mandatory. All long-term studies are governed by statutory and will be published after finalization.

The certification as arthroplasty center of maximum care is an excellent confirmation for OCM about their constant quality efforts and at the same time commitment and demand to even serve our patients on improved basis in the future.
